A Delhi software engineer turned model, Taapsee Pannu began her acting life in the South, debuting with the Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam (2010) and working steadily in Telugu and Tamil cinema before Hindi audiences discovered her. The spy thriller Baby (2015) showed her action chops, and the courtroom drama Pink (2016), where her testimony scenes powered the film's 'no means no' message, made her Bollywood's go-to actor for issue-driven cinema.
Pannu doubled down on that identity with Mulk, Badla, Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh — playing a septuagenarian sharpshooter in the last — before winning the Filmfare Best Actress award as a homemaker who walks out over a single slap in Thappad (2020). Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki (2023) gave her a career-best grosser. Off screen she co-owns a wedding-planning firm and a badminton franchise, and is married to Danish badminton star Mathias Boe.
