Javed Akhtar wins Richard Dawkins Award 2020
Popular lyricist - writer Javed Akhtar has won the prestigious Richard Dawkins
Award 2020 for critical thinking, holding religious dogma upto scrutiny,
advancing human progress and humanist values.

Javed Akhtar has been vocal about

platforms, TV debates or sessions in different cities.
Zoya Akhtar the daughter of Javed Sahab took it to Instagram to share her excitement. She posted a picture of her father with caption: So my dad just won the prestigious Richard Dawkins Award 2020 for Critical Thinking and advancing Humanist Values. He is the only Indian to have done so. Previous recipients include Bill Maher, Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais and Christopher Hitchens. Super excited for him.

Richard Dawkins Award has been presented since 2003 and is named after English evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins.
