India’s Manushi Chhillar crowned Miss World 2017

17 years of wait is finally over, Medical student from Haryana, India's Manushi Chhillar wins Miss World 2017.

Miss Chhillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China. Chhillar made it to the top five spots in the pageant along with England, France, Kenya and Mexico.

In the question and answer round, Chhillar was asked which profession deserved the highest salary and why? 

To which She replied: “I think a mother is of highest respect. I don’t think its just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. Mother should get highest respect.”

Manushi Chhillar, who is from Haryana, had earlier this year won the Femina Miss India 2017.

Miss Chillar is the 6th Miss India to win this covated pageant, Chillar brings the crown to india after more than a decade since Priyanka Chopra won the title in 2000.

Earlier, Miss India who have won this pageant are Rieta Faria in 1966 the 1st Miss World from India, followed by Aishwarya Rai year 1994, Diana Hayden year 1997, Yukta Mookhey  year 1999 and Priyanka Chopra year 2000.
