Shahrukh Khan Booked For Rioting - Raees Promotion Row

Actor Shah Rukh Khan booked for allegedly rioting, damaging railway property during Raees film promotion at Kota station.

Last month Shah Rukh Khan used railway for the promotion of his latest film Raees, with RaeesByRail Campaign. Shahrukh Khan boarded the Sampark Kranti Express at Mumbai Central to Delhi and met his fans at all intermediate stations.

In an unfortunate incident, when fans swarmed Baroda station to catch a glimpse of their superstar, one person lost his life because of a cardiac arrest while many were left injured in stampede. 

Soon after knowing this 49 year Actor prayed for his soul and offered condolences to family, however  A 32-year-old Vikram Singh who runs a stall on platform 1 at Kota railway station has lodged a complaint with the Kota railway police. Singh in his complaint has stated, “Khan did not deboard the train but waved at his fans from the door to the coach, and threw gifts and footballs at the waiting crowd. This caused a stampede-like situation at the platform.” 

SRK has been charged under the following sections - Sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 160 (affray), 427 (mischief causing damage of more than 50 rupees), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC, Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984; Sections 145 (interfering with amenity provided by the railway administration so as to affect the comfortable travel of any passenger) and 146 (obstructing or preventing any railway servant in the discharge of his duties)
